The Mitsubishi Pajero is a full-size SUV that was produced between 1981 and 2021 before being discontinued. However, the separately developed Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is still in production. The Pajero nameplate is derived from Leopardus pajeros, a small wild cat native to South America. Prior to 2005, the Pajero dominated the Kenyan market and was widely used by the country’s elite, but was overtaken by its Japanese rivals, the Toyota Prado and Toyota Land Cruiser.
